Student Feedback Workshops

In terms of learning outcomes, the main activity of the Summer School culminates in Student Feedback Workshops (“flow workshops”) aimed at improving the quality of individual PhD projects within the conceptual realm of mediatization research and its dialogue areas.

During the workshops, each student will present her/his PhD project and receive in-depth feedback on theoretical and methodological aspects of their projects from a lecturing senior researcher/professor, a flow manager (who is at the same time a senior researcher), and a fellow doctoral student (a 10-page paper on each project is to be made available beforehand).

Furthermore, the PhD projects are discussed intensively by the students during the workshops, and the participants additionally consult with other summer school lecturers and students informally. The outcome of this is a sustainable “push” for the PhD projects based on the most recent attainment and knowledge of media and communication research.
